. . . It's Musicradio WABC's Salute to 1970 . . .

[Description by Uncle Ricky for this exhibit contributed by Don Jennett]

Jay Reynolds plays from the Heavy Hundred of 1970 on New York's WABC, in the early morning hours of December 26, 1970. It's not a countdown show, though Jay does announce the Heavy Hundred positions of the Heavy Hits he plays. Both the 'scoped and unscoped version include an ABC newscast with Bob Scott, a PSA from Jim Nettleton and, somewhat garbled, an anti-drunk-driving announcement by Howard Cossell. There's also a bushel of spots for Dennisons, in rhyme, of course.

Outstanding, classic production elements featuring Dan Ingram and PAMS jingles highlight this excellent sample of 1970 WABC.
