PLAY Pat O'Day, KJR Seattle, Summer 1986 (37:25)

. . . Do you believe those terrible things we used to play? Isn't that ghastly? . . .

[Description by Uncle Ricky from notes by contributor Bob Seamons]

MUSIC INCLUDED! REELRADIO pays music licensing fees to feature airchecks that include music. Please learn how to support our non-profit organization. The REELRADIO online radio museum is funded totally by tax-deductible contributions.
Pat O'Day spent nearly two decades at top-rated KJR Seattle as a top personality, programmer and General Manager. During the Summer of 1986, he was "filling in" for vacationing Ross Schaffer. This is a composite of airchecks from those Summer days in Seattle.

Contributor Bob Seamons writes, "By the summer of 1986 ... KJR was sort of a Top 40/Adult Contemporary/Oldies mix. There are no ads, news, etc. 'cause I cut them. I'm afraid I just wasn't planning ahead for cyberspace."

In addition to 11 reportable musical performances, you'll hear a few old KJR jingles, newsman Bill Rice, and quite a bit of the very pleasant and familiar voice of Pat O'Day, who introduces himself as "The Myth Of Northwest Radio". Note also Pat's introduction of the Kim Carnes hit Alvin Davis Eyes. Just a bit inside...
