'SCOPED
11 years after the debut of The Last Day of TenQ, the original FIRST hour was discovered. Since Hour 1 has been posted here since 2006, the 2017 solution was to name this hour as "Part Zero". It legitimately preceded Hour 1.

The late Charlie Tuna and Boyd R. Britton are featured in Part Zero of The Last Day of TenQ, Los Angeles, on July 31, 1979.

In Part Two of The Last Day of TenQ from July 31, 1979: Charlie Tuna, Wolfman Jack, Bob Morgan, and Boyd R. Britton close out the last 10Q morning show. Charlie offers a special "Thank You" to Storer Broadcasting. Dave Sebastian follows and talks to M.G. Kelly.

Of particular interest is the spot for the Pink Lady LP, sponsored by Paul Drew Enterprises, and an oldies concert at Knott's Berry Farm hosted by Dick Clark. [PORTIONS RESTORED BY ROB FRANKEL]

Part Three of The Last Day of Ten-Q features the last few minutes of TenQ. "Country" Dave Sebastian, and Program Director Jim Conley open this exhibit. Sebastian has the first shift, not without mishap, on KHTZ-FM.

And then, we are treated to Jackson Armstrong. Armstrong is amazing.

Sebastian seems a bit lost as he shuffles carts for a telephone request. What was THAT all about? The contrast between Sebastian and Armstrong is severe. And, they roll out one of those testosterone-enhanced production elements in Armstrong's shift.

Even the "unscoped" version of this exhibit is edited. There's about 30 minutes of Sebastian's 3-hour show, and 25 minutes of Armstrong — the beginning and end of each shift. We recommend the unscoped version for your first listen, unless you really like FM by Steely Dan and Don't Bring Me Down by ELO.

Our thanks to contributor Rob Frankel for this historic exhibit, recorded off-the-air in FM monaural, and processed for online presentation here with our distinctive REELRADIO copyright code.
